Breaking the “all-or-nothing” mindset to create real, sustainable change.
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess in the heart of Amsterdam who was passionate about sustainability her whole life. She decided it was time for a change and developed a magic solution which solved all environmental problems in the world! ...... Hmm... That sounds a bit unrealistic, fairy-tale-like, doesn't it? In real life, starting a sustainability-focused business as a rookie in the start-up world, with a big dream instead of big investors, is even more difficult than it sounds.
We thought about it, and there is no person who is better equipped to tell this tale than the founder herself. Karima El Hattachi, Nutrition & dietetics specialist, will share her journey with you: how she built this company from the ground up.
While studying nutrition and dietetics, I came across a fact that stuck: humanity is too dependent on animal proteins. The planet is running out of its water, land, and patience.
Nevertheless, it is difficult to give up animal products completely. Saying no to taste, comfort, and culture is a lot to sacrifice.
This is why we wanted to find a middle way: Hybrid products – 50% animal protein, 50% plant-based protein, 100% delicious. The same taste, half the negative environmental impact.
During my thesis defence, I asked why these products were not widely available. My supervisor turned the question back on me: "Why not do it yourself?" So... I am giving it a try.
Our first product is the HyHamburger - a juicy hybrid meat burger worth sharing with your meat-lover friends! Our vision for the future is to develop hybrid meat, dairy, poultry, and fish products.
With us, you do not have to choose between good and tasty. Join us for a tasteful future!
Inspiring change starts with people. Meet the team making our dream a reality.
I oversee daily operations and drive the company’s growth ensuring efficiency, teamwork, and progress toward our mission of scaling and reaching more customers. I started as a Marketing Assistant during my internship and stayed for the startup’s energy, innovation, and vision. I believe in our hybrid food concept where sustainability meets great taste.
I work on product and supply chain design and operations — developing efficient, scalable systems that bring our innovative food products from concept to shelf. My role combines creative problem-solving with data-driven logistics to make sure our products strike the right balance between sustainability and affordability. I joined the company because I’m passionate about finding effective and novel solutions to both environmental and logistical challenges — and Eat Hybrids offers the perfect space to turn those ideas into real, positive impact.
I handle the graphic and web design content by shaping how our message looks and feels.
I joined Eat Hybrids because I believe sustainable living should approachable by everyone and I’m excited to help bring that to life through design.
I ensure that Eat Hybrids' operational engine keeps running — from supply chain planning and financial modeling to building dashboards that turn our data into decisions. My work bridges the gap between the kitchen, the spreadsheet, and strategy: I ensure that our ingredients flow efficiently, our costs remain manageable, and our team has the insights to grow with confidence. I joined Eat Hybrids because I believe that sustainability is only scalable if the underlying operational processes are solid — and helping a young, mission-driven company turn ambition into structure is exactly where I want to be.
